What is Gum Contouring?
Gum contouring, or a gum lift, is a procedure done by your dentist to help reshape the gums. It may be done for patients who have gums that have not receded enough, or for patients who have a lot of gum that shows when they smile.

Our dentists use dental lasers to help reshape the gum line of each tooth to create a more even and aesthetic look or to prepare for other cosmetic work, such as the placement of dental veneers.
How Gum Contouring Works
Normally done on the front teeth, your dentist will administer a local anesthetic to the area before the reshaping. Next, they will cut and reshape the gum line using a dental laser.
The gum shaping procedure can be done in one appointment, providing a new look almost immediately. The gums will feel quite comfortable following the procedure and will heal fully in 2-3 days.
