What is Sedation for Dentistry?
Sedation for dentistry is the use of medication to help ease anxiety, during and after dental treatment.
It may be recommended for patients with high dental anxiety, extensive treatment needs, time constraints, and/or a severe gag reflex.
Are You Afraid of Dentists?
If you're afraid of dentists, you're not alone. Some people who go regularly to the dentist still feel anxious about their dental visits. Fear is one of the biggest reason people avoid dentists.
If you experience anxiety, your dentist may recommend, conscious sedation for your next dental appointment. Sedation can help you relax during your appointment, easing the anxiety associated with your dental procedure.

Masoumeh came to our office wanting a complete smile makeover. Over the years Masoumeh has had a lot of dental work, none that she was particularly pleased with. One of her main concerns was closing the large gap between her front teeth. She was also disappointed with how yellow her teeth appeared as well as the dark metal margins showing on her existing crowns. Another concern is replacing her two congenitally missing front teeth with natural looking results.
Within 2 visits we were able to completely make over Masoumeh’s smile. Dr. Haddad’s treatment consisted of full mouth reconstruction with porcelain crowns and bridges to improve the colour, shape and function of her teeth. Her self confidence has never been better now that the gap between her front teeth is finally closed. Masoumeh works with the public as a stylist where she can now smile at her clients with ease.

Giselle was not happy with the appearance of her smile and wanted to know what could be done to improve it. She felt that her teeth looked short and crooked. She did not like how too much gum tissue showed and that her older white fillings were beginning to discolour and break down.
Dr. Haddad suggested that sculpting of the gum tissue would improve the proportions of gum to tooth ratio giving a better overall appearance. Giselle had crown lengthening and re contouring of the gumline with 4 porcelain crowns on the front teeth. Giselle now has a beautiful new smile she would be happy to show off to anyone.

Debra came to our office wanting to update her smile. Over the years Debra has had a lot of dental treatment. With having so many different procedures, this has left her feeling like she’s lost the natural look of her smile. Debra’s smile now shows discoloured crowns with dark metal margins, and an uneven smile line. She also has root exposure where restorative patch work has been performed to try and cover up the flaws. Being one of Toronto’s top models in her early 20’s, she wanted to regain that youthful smile and the confidence that came with it.
Dr. Haddad’s first recommendation was to establish a comfortable bite using Neuromuscular Therapy. Once the bite was established, we followed with full mouth reconstruction consisting of porcelain crowns and bridges. This treatment gave her a fuller, brighter more natural looking smile. Debra has regained her youthfulness looking better than ever.
